Tourism Promotion Conference of Ninh Bình Province in Tokyo, Japan – The Beauty of the Ancient Capital

On November 22, 2024, the People’s Committee of Ninh Bình Province, in collaboration with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, organized a tourism promotion conference in Japan with the theme “The Beauty of the Ancient Capital.” The conference was attended by Ninh Binh provincial leaders, H.E. Mr Pham Quang Hieu, Ambassador of Viet Nam to Japan, and representatives from Japan’s tourism management agencies, including JNTO, JATA, JTTRI, and JABA. Notably, 130 delegates from businesses, trade unions, and media agencies from both Japan and Vietnam participated, including 52 prominent Japanese tourism and travel companies.

Conference Overview

In his speech at the conference, Mr. Chan Song Tung, Vice Chairman of Ninh Bình’s People’s Committee, emphasized that the event provided an opportunity to showcase Ninh Bình’s cultural and natural heritage. He described it as a bridge to strengthen cooperation between tourism organizations and travel businesses from both countries. Through this conference, Ninh Bình aims to open a new chapter in tourism cooperation, attract investment, develop tourism services, and promote the province to Japanese tourists while encouraging travel between the two nations.

H.E. Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu highlighted that Ninh Bình is one of the pioneering provinces in Vietnam in organizing tourism promotion events in Japan. The Vietnamese Embassy highly welcomed and appreciated the initiative and proactive approach of the province in organizing this conference. He noted that this not only reflects a spirit of innovation and creativity but also demonstrates the province’s strong determination to boost tourism, with a focus on targeted cultural promotion.

As part of the program, a cooperation agreement was signed between the tourism agencies of the two countries to formalize collaborative ideas and lay the groundwork for closer and more active cooperation in the future. Conference participants assessed that with the support of relevant agencies, Ninh Bình will continue to strengthen its tourism sector, expand cultural exchange opportunities, and contribute to deepening the friendly relations between Vietnam and Japan.
